The everyday drink of India for generations. Each Indian family closely guards its Chai recipe of Black Tea and spices, and no traveler to India can forget its wonderful flavor.

Decaffeinated Teas

Decaffeinated Teas

Very few plants in nature contain caffeine, and not surprisingly they are some of the most popular beverages worldwide. Coffee, Tea, Cocoa, and the South American herbs Mate (Yerba) and Guarana (Brazilian Cocoa) are the major beverages containing this mild stimulant. While most people tolerate and function better with low to moderate amounts of caffeine, many people are very sensitive to its effects.

Herbal Teas

Herbal Teas

Technically called Herbal Infusions or Tisanes, but most commonly called Herbal "Teas," these wonderful beverages come from the Leaves, Flowers, Bark, Roots, and Berries (Fruit) from hundreds of plants which have found their way into hot water over time.

Iced Teas

The idea of drinking iced tea originated in 1904 at the St. Louis World Trade Fair when a heat wave forced an inventive tea purveyor to try something different. Americans still consume most of their tea over ice, upwards of 1.6 billion glasses annually. Many of our teas are great over ice. They tend to remain clear when cold. Note that most teas will not cloud if they are allowed to cool down naturally before adding ice.

There are hundreds, if not a few thousand, teas in the world, and nothing gets us as excited as presenting new teas.

It's hard to say enough about these wonderful, 100% caffeine-free herbal teas from South Africa. Rooibos (pronounced 'Roy Bosh') comes from the plant aspalathus linearis often called Red Bush. It brews a deep red cup with a mild, slightly sweet chestnut-like taste.

Tribute Teas

Tribute Teas

Tribute teas got their name in ancient China because they were the best product of the Tea Master’s art, and were presented to the Emperor as a "tribute." Sometimes called "rare teas" in modern times, these wonderful teas are characterized by extraordinary flavors, limited seasonal availability, being in the top rank of their class, or having unique tastes.

White Teas

White Teas

The highest quality White Teas are usually the leaf styles known as "Silver Needle" and "White Peony" or Bai Mu Dan (also known as Pai Mu Tan) made in various regions of China, and now by Tea Gardens in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Only the finest new tender fleshy sprouts of the tea bush are picked from selected plant varieties at an exact time in the Spring, determined by the Tea Master, when new buds are wrapped in an unopened outer leaf. Very delicately handled so as not to bruise the leaf, the unopened leaves and buds are often separated and dried slowly to preserve the unique flavors.
