Sikkim - Temi Estate

This is an exceptionally high quality tea from the Eastern Himalayas of Northern India. Sikkim is a "Kingdom" much like its next door neighbor, Nepal, but controlled by the Indian Government. It lies in the high foothills of the Himalaya in the valley immediately North of Darjeeling. Some years ago Darjeeling seeds and plants were taken to Sikkim. Because of the change in climate, a robust but smooth Darjeeling type tea is produced. This is a personal favorite of ours at Strand Tea, not often found in the United States. We highly recommend it as an afternoon tea.
