Blue Willow is one of the most classic design patterns and represents the Chinese influence on British Teaware in the early 1700's when the British were consumed with tea and "china"  teaware.  By 1750 it is estimated that England alone imported thousand tons of porcelain, the center piece of which was teaware.  It would be another decade or two before Mr J. Spode stumbled onto the secret of making fine Bone China right at home.
